Sunshine Insurance Event Celebrates 7 Years

Strides for Hope- Running to Support People Touched by Cancer

The number of participants continues to grow from year to year.

Over the January 14-15 weekend of 2017, in New Providence, the eighth running of the Sunshine Insurance Marathon Bahamas will take place.

Sunshine Insurance Marathon Bahamas (SIMB) on Monday donated $50,000 to five local cancer charities. The donation will go towards breast cancer screenings, educating the public on the disease and providing lodging for Family Island residents travelling to Nassau for cancer care.

An Olympic legend and an award-winning director have teamed-up for an emotional breast cancer television ad. Two-time Olympic gold medalist, Pauline Davis-Thompson is the star of a new commercial promoting the upcoming Susan G. Komen Bahamas Race for the Cure^® event.

For the fifth year in a row, a group of Drake University students will travel to The Bahamas in January to take part in the Sunshine Insurance Race Weekend (SIRW).
